Waterlooplein, 1960

From  200,00

‘Come and enjoy!’ This is the current slogan of the Waterlooplein website. As the oldest flea market in the Netherlands, it has traditionally been a Jewish market. Since 1893, it was an ordinary daily market, but this changed after World War II. Amidst the second-hand pots and pans, one could also find more exotic treasures. Antiques, curiosities, and ‘worldly goods’ are interspersed with quirky items, such as a beautiful
collection of mannequins.
Found and vernacular photography, anonymous 1960.
High resolution scanned from original colour slide.
